Oven-Baked Honey Garlic Sausages

These sticky, sweet, and savory sausages are the ultimate easy appetizer, game-day snack, or weeknight dinner addition. They’re hands-off, require minimal cleanup, and pack a punch of flavor.

Ingredients

· 1 lb (450g) smoked sausage or bratwurst, sliced into 1-inch rounds (or use mini smoked sausages)
· 3 tbsp honey
· 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
· 3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
· 1 tbsp ketchup or hoisin sauce
· 1 tsp sriracha or red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
· 1 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
· 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
· 2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thicker glaze)
· Garnish: Sesame seeds, sliced green onions, chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

  1. Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, sriracha (if using), olive oil, and vinegar until smooth.

  1. Coat & Bake

· Place sausage slices in a medium bowl. Pour about ⅔ of the sauce over them and toss to coat evenly.
· Spread sausages in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
· Bake for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until sausages are browned and sizzling.

  1. Glaze (Optional but Recommended)

· In the last 5 minutes of baking, warm the remaining sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat.
· Whisk in the cornstarch slurry and simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
· Remove sausages from the oven and toss in a bowl with the thickened glaze.

  1. Serve

Transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately with toothpicks as an appetizer, or over rice or roasted veggies as a meal.

Tips for Success

· Don’t overcrowd the pan — space sausages apart so they crisp instead of steam.
· Use precooked smoked sausage for juicy results without drying out.
· Spice it up: Add a dash of smoked paprika, ginger, or more sriracha to the sauce.
· Make ahead: Mix sauce and slice sausages up to a day ahead. Bake just before serving.
· Alternative cooking: You can also cook these in an air fryer at 380°F for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway.

Serving Ideas

· Appetizer: Serve with toothpicks and extra sauce for dipping.
· Meal: Pair with rice, roasted broccoli, or mashed potatoes.
· Game day: Keep warm in a slow cooker on the “warm” setting.

These sausages are sticky, glossy, and full of sweet-garlic goodness with minimal effort. Perfect for feeding a crowd or jazzing up a simple dinner! 🌭🍯
